About the Author,
Khaled Hosseini is a globally celebrated Afghan-American author whose novels have touched millions of readers around the world. He was born in Kabul, Afghanistan, in 1965, where his early childhood was shaped by the country’s rich culture and complex history. In the
late 1970s, his family sought asylum in the United States following political unrest in Afghanistan, an experience that would later influence much of his writing. Hosseini went on to study medicine and practiced as a physician for several years before pursuing his passion for storytelling full time.
He rose to international fame with his debut novel, The Kite Runner, which became a worldwide bestseller and introduced readers to emotionally powerful stories rooted in Afghan life and identity.
